Who We Are

Hope Life Center is a Christ-centered organization dedicated to helping every woman in Illinois find the freedom to choose life for her unborn child. 

What We Do

Our clinic functions as an emergency room for the pregnancy decision, providing women in Illinois with a life-affirming alternative to other clinics. Our patient team serves at-risk women with a free pregnancy options consultation including pregnancy testing, an ultrasound, and STI testing.

The ethical medical care we provide empowers women to make informed decisions about the outcome of their pregnancies.

Why Women Choose Us First

Area women make us their first stop when looking for help with an unplanned pregnancy, because we answer three questions every woman must have answered before she makes a decision regarding the outcome of her pregnancy: 

1. Am I really pregnant?
2. How far along am I?
3. Do I have an STI? 

Knowing these questions can be answered at our center, free of charge, gives women a compelling reason to schedule an appointment with us before going anywhere else.

Our Results

Seven out of ten of the pregnant women we serve choose life.

90-95% of the women served at our center demonstrate a risk for abortion and 600 of these at-risk women have made decisions for life over the past 6 years.

The number of at-risk women choosing life through Hope Life Center is consistently growing, bringing us closer to our vision of helping every woman in Illinois find the freedom to choose life.

Our History

Hope Life Center was the dream of founders Mark and Laura Petigoue long before it developed into the organization it is today.

In 1983, while washing dishes at her kitchen sink, Laura tuned into a radio program discussing the needs of women experiencing unplanned pregnancies and the harm that abortion brings to women. This program birthed in Laura a desire to develop an organization that would provide women in her community with alternatives to abortion. She gathered a group of like-minded individuals and began to hold prayer meetings. A board of directors was established and on February 17, 1986, the doors of Hope Life Center opened for the first time.
